The Water

Onsen Specifics: Two indoor bathting rooms (one for woman, one for man).

This is a small and homey Japanese style Inn, located on the small hill in the mountain. Since family owned small operation, owners are very preised about hosting guests, especially about preparing for food. Handmaid tofu udon, and soi-source using special mineral water from hot spring have special tastes.

Tradition of Kinosaki is to try all seven public bathes, which has different benefit. Ryokan will provide you yukata (Japanese Summer Cotton Kimono) so that you can put it and take it out very easily. Read about Kinosaki's seven public onsens.

Kinosaki onsen is known for providing inspiration for well-known artists, writers, and calligraphers. The famous author Shiga Naoya also came to Kinosaki and stayed for three weeks in 1913. He wrote a short story, Kinosaki Nite.
