From Osaka: The easiest way to get Arima Onsen is to take a Hankyu express bus to Arima Onsen directly. The bus leave every 1 to 2 hrs from Osaka station.
Travel Time: From Osaka, it takes only 1 hr (1400 yen / one way).

The Water

Arima Onsen (Arima Hot Springs) is located in Kobe, Hyogo Prefecture and it is one of the oldest hot spring areas in Japan. Located on the northern slopes of Mount Rokko, Arima Hot Springs is famous for abundant of expensive and upscale hotels.

Ryokan Rakusan is one of luxurious ryokan. Small but sophisticate design of room make you comfortable. Rakusan is the only ryokan around the Arima Onsen that hot spring actually comes out from its own land. There are prominent two types of hot spring: gold colored water (called gold, containing abundant of iron) and transparent water (called silver, sparkling hot water).
