Ryugon at Muikamachi Onsen


From Tokyo Staion: At Tokyo station, take the Joetsu Shinkansen bound for Niigata and get off at Echigo Yuzawa station. Then, tarnsfer to the Joetsu line or the Hoku Hoku line and get off at Muikamachi station. People from Ryokan will pick you up from Muikamachi station. Call ryokan from the station. (It takes about 5 minutes to Ryugon)
Travel Time: From tokyo to Echigo Yuzawa station: 1hr and 20 min. From Echigo Yuzawa staion to Muikamachi staion: 20 min.

The Water

Onsen Specifics: Two indoor bathing rooms (one for woman and one for man) and Four outdoor bathing locations. (two for woman and two for man). Two bathing rooms are for reserved only.

Ryugon is a traditional Japanese style Hotel with hot spring facilities built upon old Samurai structures. These structures (constructed nearly 200 years ago) are very rare treasures as they can only be seen in meseums (replicas) and others are being designated as national treasures.
