Local Train Station: Morioka From Tokyo: Take a JR shinkansen to Tazawako station. From Tazawako station, take a local bus, direction for Goshougake Onsen, and get off at the last stop. In the winter, the highway between Tawazako and Goshougake will be closed. Take a JR Shinkansen to Morioka station. From Morioka station, you can take two different local buses. Travel Time: Tokyo to Morioka takes around 2hrs and 30 minutes. A local bus ride takes 45 min.
Price: Rates start at Y2,500 (bunk bed at Toji village) to 15,000 (at Sansui Ryokan, includind breakfast and dinner). Some of them are with bathroom.

The Water
Water Composition: Three indoor bathing locations (man and woman are separated.) One outdoor bathging location (connected man and woman.)The most famous bath is the steam bath. There are 5 or 6 of small boxes fit only one person are lined out.
This onsen has two completely different faces. One, called Sansui Ryokan is for upscale travelers who want to relax and other, called Touji village is for people who come here for treatment. Spa facilities are the same for both, but accommodations are separated by building. Entire facility is heated by the hot water shooting out from right next onsen facility. Even cold winter, all rooms, corridors, and kitchens are warm. The onsen is located in the middle of National Park. There are a lot of place to hike and ski. Since water are know to cure many illness, many people come here from all over Northern part of Japan to stay for weeks.
The Buzz
The accommodation for Toji village was reasonably price and absolutory clean. You can eat simple Japanese food at the restaurant. Even though it was snow, whole building was warm. People were nice and kind.
