The Water

Onsen Specifics: Two indoor baths (one for men and one for women). Two large outdoor baths (one for men and one for women). One mixed outdoor bath.
Water Good For: Rheumatism, skin problem, nervous disorders.

This up-scale small ryokan has two important qualities going for it: a beautiful outdoor bath, and spectacular meals.

While the ryokan doesn't have a big name in Japan, there are many fans of this ryokan. The owner is well-known as a skilled fisherman. Often he serves meals built around fish he caught that day. Guests gather in a central kitchen room to eat.

Although not widely promoted, Yama-aino-yado Weda is well appreciated among devoted onsen aficionados.
