From Tokyo: From Shinjuku station take the JR express Azusa and get off at Ootsuki station. From Ootsuki station, the ryokan has a shuttle.
Travel Time: Shinjuku to Ootsuki, 1 hour. Shuttle to ryokan, 10 min. Total travel time approx. 1 hr 10 minutes.

Accommodations

Price: Rates start at Y20,000 (including breakfast and dinner). The ryokan has 16 Japanese-style rooms.
Days Closed: None
Day Visit Option: Y1,500 (11:00am - 4:00pm) which also permits use of a quiet lounge.
Credit Cards: None accepted.

The Water

Onsen Specifics: Two outdoor baths (one for men, one for women). Two indoor baths (one for men, one for women).
Water Good For: Rheumatism, diabetes, high blood pressure, skin problem.
Water Composition: Suffice acid

This ryokan is located in a remote country setting, is built in a traditional style, has only 16 rooms, and each room has its own wooden tub attached to it (see photo above). Yes, this is onsen bliss.

The ryokan is on a large property, so plan on enjoying the peace, quiet, and spacious setting. The rooms are large and especially well-suited for families.

Also, for an additional Y2,000, guests can stay in the ryokan's free-standing cottage - which comes equiped with a private sauna.

One web report comments on the cottage's excellent massage chair and the ryokan's food, which reportedly comes slowly and over many courses.
