Local Train Station: Tazawako From Tokyo: Take a JR shinkansen, Komachi, to Tazawako station. From Tazawako station, take a local bus, direction for Niuto Onsen, and get off at the last stop. From there, a shuttle can take you to the ryokan, or one can walk. Travel Time: Tokyo to Tazawako takes around 3 hrs and 30 min. A local bus ride takes 45 min.
Price: Rates start at Y8,000 (including breakfast and dinner) to 15,000. Some of them are with bathroom.

The Water
Onsen Specifics: Six large outdoor bathing locations (mixed) and four inside bathing location (two for man, two for woman). Several outdoor bathing location for only woman.
One of the oldest milk water hot springs in Akita. Since 1701, there have been many people are visiting to cure their problem. The many building kept original structure and maintain their old fashion soul. The main building was built 360 years ago and remodeled 120 years ago. The large space of outdoor bathes are mostly mixed. Since water is milky colored, women can comfortably stay them as well. Especially in the night, the moon and stars are reflecting on the white water and produce dreamy world. It will be the great way to detach from your daily though.
