Local Train Station: Yonezawa From Tokyo: From Tokyo Station take the Joetsu shinkansen (Tubasa is the fasted shinkansen on this line) to Yonezawa station. Then, transfer to a local bus, direction of Sirabu Yumoto and get off at the last stop. Travel Time: Tokyo to Yonezawa takes 2 hrs and 15 min and local bus will take 40 min to the ryolan. Total is around 3 hrs.

Price: Rates range from Y9,500 to Y12,000 (including breakfast and dinner). The ryokan has 12 Japanese-style rooms. Days Closed: Closed from the beginning of November through April. Day Visit Option: Y500 - 12:00 pm to 4:00 pm
The Water
Onsen Specifics: Two indoor bathing rooms (one for man and one for woman). Two outdoor bathing locations for mix and one outdoor bathing location for woman.
In the middle of the mountain, Mt. Azuma. Azumaya Ryokan was literally surrounded with trees. No building is next to it. In order to keep harmony with the environment, the ryokan kept simple style. It might be better explained as a sophisticate mountain hat. Especially in winter, everything but outdoor bathtubs are covered with snow. You might even be able to listen the sound of snow falling.
The meals are cooked with local vegetable and meats.
